A road trip without a destination?

Oh yes, the perfect one-day adventure! Just drive around for a bit and enjoy what you encounter along the way. We’ve put together three scenic drives in the UK that give you that ultimate road trip feeling, without even having to get out of your car. Let’s go!

Of course there are some things that are essential for a great road trip: snacks, drinks and music. So fill up a thermos with coffee, grab all the snacks you like and subscribe to our srprs.roadtrip playlist on Spotify. Now you’re ready to hit the road!

Route #1: Somerset

Distance: 33 miles
Driving time: 1 h. 30 min.

This route will lead you through the rural area of Somerset. The route starts in Clevedon, from where you’ll drive to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge. You’ll cross the Mendip Hills Area to Priddy, and onwards to the city of Wells. The route ends at the Glastonbury Tor.

Route #2: Northumberland

Distance: 76 miles
Driving time: 2 hrs.

This route will lead you along the coast of Northumberland. The route starts in Berwick-upon-Tweed. You’ll drive to Bamburgh, where you can find the Bamburgh Castle. You’ll drive along the coast to Alnwick and Warkworth. The route ends in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Route #3: Peak District

Distance: 60 miles
Driving time: 1 h. 45 min.

This route will lead you through the Peak District National Park. The route starts in Glossop. From here, you’ll drive part of the scenic A57, better knows as the ‘Snake Pass’. You’ll drive to the picturesque villages of Bamford, Eyam and Edensor. Via Matlock you’ll drive to Derby, where this route ends.
